Scrapbooking Organization
Why it is so important?

Find out why scrapbooking organization is so important.

Getting Organized with your scrapbooking supplies is an essential part of creating your scrapbook projects.
Let your imagination flow by getting organized.

The best technique that I know of for saving time and headaches and eliminating distractions when you are scrapbooking is to become better organized.

It is important to know where all of your photos are and that they are easily accessible. There is nothing worse than having to search for photos every time you scrapbook. You will be able to be far more creative and enjoy the process much more if everything you need is at your fingertips before you begin. It also ensures that you don’t leave out or forget one of your favorite pictures.

You may have heard the saying ‘cluttered desks reflects cluttered minds’ and for the most part I think that is true. If you are trying to work in a disorganized work area it can make it harder to have a clear creative image and make it very difficult to get anything done. You may start to feel some anxiety and stress and then the procrastination may set in. This the THE very thing you should try to avoid.

Scrapbooking Made Easy

Scrapbooking Organization tip #1:

Start by taking a little time to organize your scrapbooking space and materials and you will avoid these negative aspects and be able to focus on having fun.

Try to keep your photos in albums or boxes so that you will know where to find them at all times. If they aren’t start by organizing the photo and items you want to use for your project and gather those into one space.

Below are a few ideas to help with your photo storage.

- Set up a system to help you organize your supplies. There are lots of products available to help you. Everyone is different so make sure you find something that will work for you.

For example: I have found that some scrapbookers like to organize all of their paper by the brand. This works very well for them but may not work for you. I prefer to organize my papers by color.

Some scrappers like to store their ribbons in glass jars sorted by color. It can save you time when you are looking for that perfect color to suit your project. I prefer to keep my ribbons in clear CD cases in a rack and this way I can just flick through the cases and find what I need instantly.

Just keep in mind that the system you choose should be quick and easy and make sure it reduces your stress and not add to it.

I have gathered together a few totes that are available for purchase at the store below.

Scrapbooking Organization tip #2:

- Labeling is very important if you keep any of your supplies in boxes, containers, drawers or jars that are not see through. Put your label on the front side so that you can tell right away what you are looking for. - Always keep a good supply of all the basic supplies like white cardstock, tape and blades for your paper cutter. I have found that there is nothing worse than getting part way through your layout only to find that you have run out. It not only interrupts your flow, you will have to go out and purchase more supplies before finishing your page. And you may end up paying more than you intended for your supplies

So by getting organized and having your supplies all together in one place will be easier for you to see when you are running low on something and you will be able to keep your scrapbooking supplies stocked.

Scrapbooking Organization tip #3:

- If you do your scrapping at a friends place you may want to consider getting two of each of your tools that you use the most like scissors, craft knives, tape, rulers etc. This way you can keep a set in your home and one in your bag to take along with you. This will save you time unpacking as well as ensuring you don’t forget anything important at home.

- Another getting organized tip is to always clean up your scrapbooking area after finishing up with your project so that the next time you go to scrap, you can get started right away. Tidying up after each page is completed is another good habit to get into as you will move along faster knowing where everything goes.
