How important is a Family Tree?

Family Trees are a very important part
of your heritage scrapbook.

They will become a good reference point that allows your readers to connect the generations together.

There are many different ways to create one. You will have to do a bit of research to get all of the valuable information you will need. You should have names, dates etc. A great place to start looking is with your family members. Ask about dates and names and any other details that they may have. Someone may have a 'keepsake' book of sorts with some of the important information that your are looking for. Another place you may want to look is an old family Bible. Many times there are births, marriages and deaths recorded in them.

There are many software programs available to help you with the organization of your project. Some will even help you with the linking process and then allow you print out a decorative tree with your information on it.

When you are making your scrapbook it is always a good idea to use acid free paper and apply to your paper with photo corners and then embellish around it. This way you can always add more information later.

There are many beautiful pre-printed templates available from scrapbooking shops.
