Interview with Marie Stones
If you are looking for free digital scrapbooking resources then Marie's site is definitely one to visit. We caught up with her for a chat.
Hello Marie, Please introduce yourself to readers who may not be familiar with you, and please use this opportunity to tell us where we can read your work and what services you have to offer?

Hey everybody - my name is Marie Stones. I am owner, operator and designer of FreeDigitalScrapbooking.com.
I started digital scrapbooking about 6 years ago and quickly fell in love. It was so much fun and so much easier, cheaper, and cleaner than traditional scrapbooking. I soon found I loved creating my own papers and embellishments and started the site as a way to share them with others. It has grown beyond my wildest dreams! You can now find thousands of freebies, a brand new digital shop, my blog and tons of great tutorials to help anyone get started digital scrapbooking.
It seems that you live, eat, and breathe digital scrapbooking. What first inspired your passion in digital scrapbooking design and why did you decide to devote your life to it?
I first gave digital scrapbooking a try about the same time my oldest started to walk. He was a monster to say the least and loved my traditional scrapbooking papers and supplies even more than I did. :) If I wanted to scrapbook I had to do it in the middle of night when he was asleep.
I decided to give digital scrapbooking a try and I was hooked almost immediately. I loved it! I soon found I loved creating my own papers and embellishments and sharing them with others even more.
You have your own blog and also write for a blog called "Shutterfly Celebrations Blog," which focuses on digital scrapbooking designs. What drove you to specialize in that niche, and how has the general reaction been from others who have read the blog and/or consulted with you on your digital designs?
I was actually only a feature artist on the "Shutterfly Celebrations" Blog so that was easy.
My blog and designs are a lot more work, but worth every minute of it. I guess I decide to "specialize" in digital scrapbooking because it is something I love do and have a talent for. Most visitors to the site are so kind and appreciative. Their wonderful comments keep me going :)
You are a wife, mom, designer, webmaster, and scrapbooker. How do you manage to juggle all of these jobs and still be very successful?
It is a challenge. For the most part I work from home, which is such a blessing. However, with three little ones running around it can be hard to stay focused and still feel like a "good" mom. I just have to take it one day at a time.
I love being my own boss and the freedom that comes with that is well worth it.
What advice would you give to new digital scrapbookers to help them find their creative side?
Stay organized. I know this sounds funny and very anti-creative, but if your
scrapbooking organization is good, you will have more time to let your creative side out with getting frustrated.
A big thank you to Marie for sharing her time with us.
