Genealogy can be defined as the study of your family's history. It can be very interesting to learn about your ancestor from way back. Imagine learning about your grandparents and how the lived in their time.
What we are today is all because of our heritage. We inherit our characteristics, differences, abilities along with many other things from our ancestors. It is a very important part of us and gives us a sense of who we are. Creating your heritage scrapbook could be one of the most important things you do for your family. It is also important to preserve your family memories while there are family still here to help identify photos and tell the stories behind them.  Some ideas to create your geneology can be family trees, pedigree charts and heritage scrapbooks, with photos and stories of the past and present members of one's family. You may include stories of individuals and family groups and show how they are joined together and what their relationships are to each other.
If you are fortunate to have some old photos it can be very exciting to have the opportunity to create a heritage scrapbook.You don't need many photos to get started and once other members of your family find out what you are working on they may have other photos you could copy. If you find that you don't have photos of some members of your family you should still set aside some space and write about them as they are still a part of your album.
